Institutional Research Committee (IRC)


Research Committee is a sub-committee of Academic Board and will provide reports, recommendation and advice to Academic Board and the Director.


The purpose of this committee is to advance the institutes' research mission of developing successful and innovative research. The Research Committee works to develop new initiatives to stimulate research at the institutional level.

Purpose and Function

To advice the Academic Board on research and research training policy and to uplift the intuitional research performances.

Terms of references

Institutional Research Committee (IRC) shall be responsible for,

  • Monitoring the implementation of the research chapter of the institution's Academic Plan
  • Providing guidelines to the Academic Board to assist it meets its statutory responsibilities for the identification of research objectives and strategies of the institute and the encouragement and development of research within these objectives and strategies.
    • Making recommendations to Academic Board on policies and procedures relating to the management of research activities.
    • Evaluating research progress and examination of undergraduate research
    • Maintaining ethical conduct of research
    • Assisting in professional development of staff based on research training
  • Monitoring Research Centre of the Institute, research outcomes and research funding
  • Recommending research grants, travelled grants, research paper publication cost, and registration fee for oral research paper presentation / Poster presentation, for the permanent academic staff of the institute.
